If you had recently immigrated to Canada and would want to sponsor your spouse, you application may be returned saying that Option C Printout from CRA is missing.
To resolve the issue, get an employment letter from your employer. The letter shoudl state your title/designation, duration of employment and your annual salary. It would also be better if the letter states the salaries you received to date.

In order to obtain your CAIPS notes, one must be living in Canada or have someone in Canada to do the same for you.
Download the form available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563B.pdf and with the following details.
- Visa post ( Buffalo, NY, New Delhi, India etc.)
- File number
- Date of Birth
- Under Access to Information, check off “Receive copies of the records”
- Make a $5.00 cheque to Receiver General of Canada
- Your Mailing address (Should be address in Canada)
- Check on the box for the CAIPS notes request in the form.
- Photocopy of your valid permit/visa in Canada ( If somebody else is requesting it for you, their valid information should be provided)
- A letter requesting the note

CIC requires that you show evidence of funds (see table below) when you do your landing procedure. You will also have to show your bank statements or other financial document when you apply for your immigration petition.
Remember, you will need this kind of money for supporting yourself for the first six months or so until you get a job that will support you further. Canadian Government does not support new immigrants.

If you are producing a copy of any of the above certificate/letters/documents, please notarize them to prove that they are an exact replica of the original.
If you do not have a birth certificate from India, CIC accepts a letter from your local Indian consulate.
In the Indian Consulate at San Francisco, walk into the Consulate and fill up the application form for Birth Certificate and produce relevant documents such as Passport etc.,
You will get a letter from the Vice Consul stating your date of birth. CIC accepts this letter as a valid proof of your birth record.
