Immigration Fees payment options

Immigration fees must be in the form of a Bank draft or Bank check. Please note that Personal Cheques are not allowed. Some of the fees can be paid online using a credit card.

You can pay your fees using one of the following method:

Payment of fees on the Internet

If you have Adobe® Acrobat Reader software and a printer, use your credit card that is either a Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card and pay your fees online. Use the following link to pay it online.

Payment of fees at a financial institution in Canada
If you cannot or do not wish to pay online, you must obtain an original receipt form IMM 5401 in order to pay at a financial institution. This form is not available on the website because an original receipt with a unique serial number must be used. You may order an original receipt by mail.

Payment of fees at a financial Institution outside Canada

You can get a Cashier’s check or Bank draft from your local bank.

Note: If you are a federal skilled worker applicant, no matter where you are applying from, you must pay by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the “Receiver General for Canada.” Payment must be in Canadian funds only. Do not enclose cash.

Note: You cannot pay online if you are applying under the Canadian Experience Class.
